Q: How many strings are on a piano, I tune my guitar myself, can I tune my own piano?
A: Pianos have 230 strings (not 88). Guitars have 6 strings.
If you tune 1000 Pianos it is the equivalent to tuning 38,333 Guitars.
If you tune 1000 Guitars it is the equivalent to tuning just 26 Pianos.
We use the number 1000, because before you are allowed to touch a customer’s piano, you must complete your training and tune at least 1000 times in hopes that on your 1000th piano tuning you are done making your irreparable mistakes. Over the past 20 years we have performed many thousands of piano tunings after training.
No you cannot tune your own piano, Piano Tuning is not a DIY job.
Q: Why should I tune my piano as frequently as you recommend?
A: You wouldn’t play your guitar or violin without first tuning it.
When is the last time you had your piano tuned?
